In 1956, over a casual dinner at Ruby's Dunes Restaurant in Palm Springs, the concept of
Indian Wells Country Club was first discussed. Within a week, 50 acres were purchased at the base of the Santa Rosa Mountains. The original founders, including Desi Arnaz,
envisioned a nine-hole private country club surrounded by houses for Members to use as second homes.
Today, Indian Wells Country Club boasts 36-challenging holes of golf which wind their way
through the picturesque mountains making it absolutely effortless to experience golf at its best.
The Bob Hope Chrysler Classic has been associated with Indian Wells Country Club each
year since its 1960 inception. The tournament has a long tradition of attracting the worlds finest celebrity contestants and top PGA professionals. In 1995, the tournament attracted a
trio of dignitaries that made international headlines with their appearance. President Bill Clinton, President George Bush and President Gerald Ford joined the legendary Bob Hope
for an unforgettable round of Golf at Indian Wells Country Club.
